As in the discovery of a new region a new opportunity to catch new Pokémon species never seen before arrived at a lot of trainers doorstep. A certain Water type Gym Leader from Kanto belonging to that group travelled to Galar in an effort to catch herself a new Water type. The Cerulean City Gym Leader Misty had asked for a nice fishing spot from the locals and they directed her to a stream of running water where Arrokuda and Barraskewda were spotted a lot. Casting out her trusty Misty lure the floater attached to her fishing rod she waited patiently hoping for something to bite soon. Not getting a single nibble she seemed out of luck today. Since the proverbial fish did not bite she reached into her bag and pulled out a bite for her own. Unwrapping the paper from a sandwich she bought in the town nearby she sat with a frown on her face. She expected a lot more from her short excursion to Galar. “Hello there.” Hearing a female voice Misty turned her around. A young lady with long brown hair, bright green eyes she wore a yellow and purple skirt and showed a short sleeved purple top with yellow lines on it. Her elbows were padded with black armbands and her sneakers were mostly yellow, the toe part purple and the laces neatly bound tight she wore a sporting bag on her back which held all her necessities for the journey out. Her figure seemed quite athletic and her face showed a smile. “Uhm…hello?” “Having trouble getting anything to bite?” The new girl asked her. Misty stared at her but despite her bad luck with the fishing stayed friendly. The girl seemed nice enough. “I seem out of luck today and honestly it’s getting frustrating. But I might get something at the end of the day.” Explaining her misfortune in fishing she was determined to catch something. The new girl nodded understandably as Misty got up from her spot. “Name's Misty.” “And I'm Anna. Always ready to put smiles onto people's faces.” Anna smiling in her introduction Misty eyed the girl some more. Her outfit left a lot of room for movement. It was similar to a style her three older sisters once were in too and their vanity unwillingly introduced Misty to a lot of styles she rather would not know but Anna basically embodied it. “Are you…a cheerleader perhaps?” “You bet I am!” Anna enthusiasm at Misty recognizing her wear grew happy. “I'm currently on a job for my boss but I'm always eager to help out! Seems you can use some.” Misty thinking to herself the noise isn't helping her cause as Anna's loudness can scare the fish away. Still because she’s down doesn't mean she had to drag the bouncy cheerleader into it. Anna bowed down to her wanting to make a conversation as she's quite sociable. “So where are you from Misty?” Misty just wanting to be left alone did nice to her. “Me? I'm from Kanto region, Cerulean City. Travelled there to get myself a new water-type pokemon that recently appeared, apparently... but had no luck so far.” “Oh wow! All the way from Kanto and a Gym Leader? That's really impressive.” Anna surprised to hear Misty is from that far out and a Gym Leader as well. The typing she choose to specialize in is a bit of a letdown to the cheerleader as her boss was an expert in Electric types though. "Question? Do you have a Chinchou or a Lanturn?" Anna asked with sparkles in her eyes. “Well, yeah, I do have Chinchou. Why?” Misty asks, staring at the girl. She was a little pondering why was the cheerleader so specific with her questions, but then again, she had no reasons to suspect anything and these questions were something she faced every day. “I just find Electric types so cute! They're the best type of Pokémon! No offense though." Anna gushed over the typing much like Misty does over Water types even if she apologized she loved the typing Misty's specialty is weak against. “None taken. I personally love Water-type, partially for looks and partially for what they can do. You seem quite passionate about Electric type though, that's for sure!” “What can I say? They have a surprise factor in how...shocking they are." Throwing a small joke winking while doing it. “And as a cheerleader its important to always be energized like an Electric type! That's why I love them!" Misty covers her mouth and giggles. Despite being disturbed Anna was energetic and perky. She seemed to be always seeing the bright side in things with her enthusiasm and was rubbing off on Misty. “I can see that. Wondering if I should get back to fishing... but maybe I'll wait for a little bit more, having a nice chat there with you and glad to be able to wind down a bit.” “Well, even if I'm specialized in Electric types doesn't mean I don't know a thing or two about Water types. The Pokémon in Galar have a different behavior pattern than what you're used in Kanto. I can take you to a spot where they're more eager to bite if you want too.” “You could do that for me?” Misty smiles as Anna’s advice may help more than the earlier one she got. “I'd be glad, cause I'm really unlucky here. I don't know the places fish bite at...” She stares at the cheerleader before correcting herself. “Well, not fish, but Pokémon’s. Then again, you could say water-type Pokémon’s are fish, right? Alright, lead the way then!” She grabs her fishing rod and followed the cheerleader through the forest who took her upstream. Anna led her to a large overview where there's a lake. The water crystal blue and clear Misty awed at it. If catching Pokémon didn’t work she can always go for a nice swim. She turned to Anna and thanked her as she probably wouldn't want to stick around and complete the job her boss send her out for. “Thanks for helping me out, we'll see soon if I get more luck here...” “Mind if I stick around? I want to be there when you catch something.” Not wanting to leave yet Anna wanted to try convince Misty to cheer her on while fishing. Misty finding it no problem casted her lure with Anna watching who got bored quick. Sitting still isn't her thing. Reaching into her sportsbag she took out and set of black and white pompoms. “Do you mind if I do some practice here? I won't be loud to scare the fish away.” “Go ahead!” Misty smiles at the cheerleader, then looks again at the lake, watching intently for any signs of Pokémon catching. She was waiting for quite a while at her previous spot, she could wait a bit more here if it meant finally catching a Pokémon she wanted. Anna started to shake her pompoms making them rustle. Waving her arms back and forth and kicking her legs up with energy she tried to keep as quiet as possible as she promised Misty not to disturb the fishes. The only noise coming from her was the rustling of the and the soft stomping of her feet on the grass. From time to time, Misty takes a moment to look at the cheerleader, but then her attention snaps back to the fishing rod. She didn't want to miss the moment she'd be able to catch her first Pokémon of this region. “You have quite a lot of energy, Anna! Jumping like that and moving.” “You ain't seen nothing yet!" Focused on her act she waved and moved the pompoms in her hands with enthusiasm twirling them in place she formed a circle motion hoping to catch Misty's attention some more. “Wish I could look, but I don't want to miss the Pokemon... how long does it take for it to bite?” Misty asked herself. Maybe she'd actually watch Anna in action for a bit more? She does look at her from time to time, but has to keep her attention divided. Anna amped up her effort by cartwheeling and tumbling like there's no tomorrow. Shaking and waving even more she started to get rally into it and it was hard to keep quiet now wanting to break into a cheer for a Water Pokémon bite already. Misty waits for the Pokémon to bite, then looks at Anna, noticing the movements of hers and pompoms flying around and gasps. “That's impressive!” Misty looks back at the fishing rod. Secretly she wished she could watch Anna more. It was some show she put on even for practice. Misty turned again curious as she can always hold a hand on her fishing rod and feel the vibration of the line if something bit. Anna now spun her black and white pompoms in a way that to onlookers it created a visual spiral. She spun them slowly at first trying to suck more of Misty's attention into it. “How do you even do those...?” Misty stares at Anna's movements, figuring she'd just quickly get back to the fishing rod if there was a bite. She gets up and watches the pompoms. The spiral motion quite attractive it created an illusion. “You could teach me Anna, it looks beautiful...” Anna smiling at getting Misty's attention spun her pompoms faster making the spiral effect more pronounced. Anna slowly kicked her feet up as she walked, twirled and spun back to her sporting bag. She threw her pompoms high up the spiral still going on with Misty's eyes following them. Anna bending down and picking up a set of yellow pompoms for Misty. Anna caught her pompoms again spinning them in one hand while throwing the yellow ones to Misty who caught them. Misty caught them not knowing what to do. “Ok Misty feel the flow! Copy my moves and you're good to go!” U-uh... o-okay?!” She was a little surprised as she shook the pompons.anyway. She cannot help but notice the beautiful spirals the cheerleader kept making, somehow, her attention was getting dragged towards them, more and more. She tries to move her pompoms, but is a little clumsy and struggles with copying the moves. It was nowhere near Anna's expertise and she knew it. “That’s it girl you're in the groove! Don't feel bad if you can’t match my moves!” Anna cheering Misty on as the effort matters kept the spiral motion up. She wanted the Gym Leader so distracted and into her cheering that she wouldn't even notice her fishing rod twitching. Anna watching Misty forming a smile as well kicked her legs up for a bit more advanced cheering. Misty dances, trying hard to copy Anna's moves, not noticing how her eyes follow more and more the spiral... not noticing the strange draw her eyes felt to the spiral... she was feeling good, trying to keep up and watching... there was something about Anna's moves... her eyes stare more and more at the pompoms... Anna keeping up her dance spun her pompoms as quickly as she could now. Misty's eyes glazing over Anna saw Misty's fishing rod twitching that some Water Pokémon is biting but the redhead was too much into her cheering and Anna's joy to notice. “You know you're pretty talented! There’s a great cheerleader in you and you didn’t even knew it.” “C-couldn't be good cheerleader... t-to be honest... uh...” Misty trails off and slows down her moves as she focuses more on the flying pompoms. She found herself to be staring more and more, wanting to gaze... she wasn't aware of the fishing rod or that she stopped dancing herself, instead she's now just watching the pompoms fly. Something about them was captivating... She takes a step closer to have a better look even, her body sucked into the happy activity as her mind is. “Aw, you're too humble! I know talent when I see it and you have what it takes to be an amazing cheerleader! Come on Misty, just let it out! You know you want too! A cheerleader can't stay introverted as you are now, you can do it!” Misty kept watching the spirals, the pompoms. She leans in a bit as her eyes slowly become glazed over, losing light in them as she keeps watching. She feels a little dizzy, a little confused and lost... and that effect starts growing. “A-anna... w-what's...?” “Just doing what feels good! Cheerleading is a blast won't you say!?” Anna smirking at how empty minded Misty is. Just a bit more and she'd be putty in her hands making Misty see her as her cheer captain and willing to do what she wanted and her boss that is a starting Gym Leader in Galar. U-uhhhh...” Misty moans a bit, but is uncertain what to say, growing more and more lost in the spirals. These movements, these colours...black and white, so bland…yet so captivating... Misty's eyes start to fill up with black and white spirals. “A-nna...” “It feels so good you want others to see it too right!?” “Good... w-want... uh.. what's...” Misty seems to be struggling to keep up with the movements, but her eyes are already swirling with black and white spirals. It was just a matter of exposing her a bit more to the spirals to make her fully sink. “Y-yees....” Misty moans, spirals in her eyes spinning faster and faster as she succumbs further, walking up to Anna and staring into the beautiful movements... letting herself be more and more captivated... she was completely helpless, accepting all the words... “Cheer…fun…better…leader…” Anna smirking realizing she had her hooked more than any Water type Misty ever caught went to work to make the redhead a permanent addition to her squad. “To be a better cheerleader and to be the best you can be you have to do everything I say. We'll build the best cheer squad in the world all for me and your new boss I also work for. You'll cheer with me during his Gym battles and in return I'll teach you everything you want to know about cheerleading which is what you want most of all right now.” “Yes... do everything you say... cheer you...” Misty repeats her words, accepting them as the truth, captivated by the movements of the pompoms as her eyes keep swirling. She feels more and more relaxed, but also more and more obedient... sinking even deeper... deeper into the pleasurable state cheerleading gave her. Anna watching Misty recite her mantra found herself giddy with the new cheerleader. Wondering if her boss would be as happy as her Anna stopped the spiral motions of the pompoms, she took off her right pompom, stuck it under her left arm and snapped her fingers with force. Misty's eyes blink as the spirals shrink to just the center of her pupils befote they were gone fully replaced with pale pupils of her normal blues. Misty looks at the girl. “H-huh... Anna...?” She looks around, a little dazed. “Mmh... what did just... uhh...” Her mind is still dizzy as she recovers slowly. Anna giving a smile and a nod in the right direction rebooting Misty's brain into what she wanted it to be. “Don't you remember silly? You agreed to become one of my cheerleaders. Why else are you holding those pompoms?" Misty looking at her hands with the yellow pompoms in them it began to click. “Oh, right.” She quickly follows Anna, her mind now certain she's one of the cheerleaders and not questioning what just happened... she remembers some swirls, some colours... but she can't recall what it all was about.. she walks to Anna, holding pompoms. “I'm sorry you couldn't catch a Water type. Guess I was wrong about them being here. You don't mind don't you?" Anna testing Misty's loyalty to see how forgiving and how little questions she's asking about situations that don't make sense. “Water-type...? No, it's fine!” Misty replies, smiling. She was willing to forgive Anna everything. After all, it wasn't such a big problem and she was going to be a cheerleader anyway. Catching a Water type can always happen later. “It's not like I need it to be honest.” “I'm glad to hear you don't need more since we're going to an Electric type Gym." Anna then moved towards her sports bag and put her special pompoms in it. She had to get a new set of yellows later as her own pair was now being held by Misty. Rummaging in it she took a hold of something. “What you do need is your new uniform!" Taking out an identical copy of her cheerleader outfit she presented it to Misty. The girl stares at the outfit and slowly grabs it. “Looks great, Anna! Will it fit though...?” She pondered, checking and taking looks from different angles. Anna winked to Misty to just put it on. “Don't worry! It may seem small but the fabric is just as flexible as I am! Once you put it on it will sculpt you out perfectly!” The girl grabs the outfit and hid in some nearby bushes to get changed. Anna heard Misty struggle. It takes her a minute or two, but eventually, she manages to put it on properly and stretches, smiling showing off to Anna. “You know... it's quite comfortable!” Misty smiled enjoying her new outfit. It felt natural, comfortable and it gave even more movement than her swimsuits. Thinking to herself why she has never tried on a cheerleader outfit herself Anna spoiled her. Holding her pompoms she shook them trying to look as mich a cheerleader as possible to Anna. “I knew you would look great in it. That's what you get for listening to your captain.” She telling her status on the cheer sqaud Anna needed to set some rules for Misty. “Get your rod and follow me. We got quite a way to go before we get to the Gym.” Misty nods and grabs her rod, then begins to follow Anna blindly back to town. “I can't wait to learn more about cheerleading...” Misty smiles a bit, her mind now dead set on being a cheerleader as good as Anna and to help her captain achieve her goals. The least she can do as she got introduced into this happy world because of her. Anna smiling as she had her back to Misty leading her. On the road she took to elaborate on the etiquette Misty had to follow under her study. “Some rules though you need to follow once we arrive at the Gym and I start your training. You will call me captain and not Anna whenever we practice or cheer our boss on. I will allow you to call me Anna out of cheer practice but I will punish you if you break that rule during training. And even if I'm your teacher the Gym Leader is the most important person. Whatever he says, you'll do no questions asked even over my commands. Being a cheerleader is being as supportive as you can be to someone and our motivation to be the best is the Gym Leader we cheer for. Understand?" “Understood Captain!” Misty saw no issue with it. Giving up a bit of free will in obeying orders was a small price to pay for Anna's lessons. Anna taking Misty to her hometown and who else would make a great fit for the worlds best future cheerleader squad.

I read and favorited a few similar stories. I hope this one turns out different from them. I can say this much, it's interesting so far, and coming from a 10 year veteran of fanfiction writing, believe me that's a compliment.
