Blockchain Research Company Hacker Panda Explores Real Estate Application for Blockchain

Security, stability appeal to real estate professionals and consumers alike

Over the past few months, “blockchain” has been the buzzword, taking center stage in industries including finance and healthcare as consumers begin to demand blockchain for its privacy and anonymity benefits. Most recently, blockchain research company Hacker Panda highlighted a multinational corporation in the business of developing real estate, investing in cultural tourism, and running upmarket star-rated hotels registered ReamTech, an R&D firm, in Hong Kong. People from the firm have met with blockchain-based payment providers and digital asset managers from China and elsewhere to deploy a blockchain plus real estate model.
This flagship project seems to be situated situated in the Sihanoukville Port Special Economic Zone of Cambodia. As is known to all, since Cambodia opened up to the outside world and set up the Sihanoukville Port Special Economic Zone in 2017, the country has attracted a lot of domestic and foreign investors as well as tourist real estate companies. In the Sihanoukville Port, a number of comprehensive real estate corporations have emerged which aim to build world-class star-rated resort hotels, high-end residential buildings, and scenario-based interactive commercial complexes. Some of them will also combine cultural entertainment and marine tourism. At the moment, it is unclear which one or ones of them have an ambition for the blockchain technology plus digital assets and plan to set up a dedicated company.
Many blockchain + real estate concepts have been floated, all of them focused on the simplicity and transparency of transactions plus issues like the existence of intermediaries and investments in real estate. It is still unknown what research about the blockchain this real estate corporation will conduct. Can such a large corporation with the capabilities of accurate pre-judgments, a huge customer base, and adequate scenarios for implementation demonstrate the possibility of the blockchain empowering the real economy? That remains to be seen.
